When I met Brittany and Mark above the beach at Mt. Doug, they were sitting at a picnic table, already enjoying the evening together. They’d scouted the location earlier that day, but the tide had come in before the shoot, leaving just a small amount of beach to work with. We made the best of […]

Dawn and Dominque are getting married this summer and I’m excited to photograph it. I hear there are some great dancers among their friends. For their engagement shoot, we took some photos at their house, where Dawn’s mid-century modern furniture found the perfect home in Dominique’s gorgeous house. They’ve been working hard on renovating it, […]
Looking at these photos, you can tell it’s spring here. Everything is so green at Government House and the flowers are starting to bloom. Julia and Chris were in town to organize some wedding details and I’m glad I finally got to meet them in person. They were full of smiles, nervous but cute. Her […]
Ashley and William met me at East Sooke Park early last Saturday morning. I hadn’t been there in years and it was long overdue. There was almost nobody else out there, which made taking photos so easy. The sun was bright and we were all wishing we hadn’t dressed so warm, but the photos came […]
Megan and Joe wanted to do an engagement session at a place that had meaning to them. They recently moved to Victoria and walk their dogs a lot at Thetis Lake. We tried to do a session in December, but the weather was pretty terrible, so we ended up meeting up last Sunday instead. I’m […]
Ok, they’re not engaged. They’re married already, but we just did some quick engagement photos two days before the wedding, so I finally got around to editing them now. They took a brief break from wedding planning to head to Cattle Point for some photos. They were so busy preparing things for the wedding, Janette […]
Sara and Michael were in town a couple of weeks ago getting plans finalized for their September wedding. I’m happy that we got a chance to meet up for an engagement session and finally meet in person. Engagement sessions are great for getting to know your photographer and getting comfortable in front of the camera. […]
Colleen wanted to do engagement photos at UVic Finnerty Gardens. I hadn’t shot there in years (since Anne and John’s 2010 wedding, actually) and totally forgot how gorgeous it is. Colleen and Jason are very affectionate and playful, and I barely had to pose them the whole time. Thanks for making my job easy, guys!
Katie and Nate visited Victoria from California in October. We spent a chilly early morning at Beacon Hill Park, which looked so pretty in the cool, fall light.
This was a really fun engagement session. Cora and Josh wanted to do a short shoot at Legends Comics and Books (major thanks to them for letting us do this), because Josh is a huge comic book fan. I’d never been in there, but it’s a pretty awesome place. I love all the colourful comics. […]
