YOUR FAMILY
It's the every day moments and rituals that make our lives so meaningful. Life is about sharing these moments with people you love, and so is documentary family photography.
I'm not a fan of posed family portraits. That's the honest truth of it. I'll take a group photo for posterity just for the sake of it, but I much prefer those unposed moments. Those photos that capture relationships and personalities. I find that people love those photos so much more, especially over time as the memories begin to fade.
What are your favourite photos ever?
I'll tell you about one of mine. It's a candid photo of my boyfriend and I at an event in our first month of dating. There's a lot going on around us, but we're totally oblivious to it, looking only at each other. Sure, it's dark and the light is a strange colour, but the way he's looking at me - I hope he never stops looking at me that way. And if he ever does, or I just stop noticing it, it'll always remain in that photograph.
We have interactions like that daily with our loved ones. I want to help you remember those moments through a photograph, or series of photographs, you can treasure forever.
