I love a wedding at a different sort of venue, which tends to come along with some amazing, unique photo opportunities. These venues usually provides an interesting spot for portraits, along with the ceremony and/or reception.
Alix Goolden Hall
Venue :: Downtown Victoria
Large hall for ceremonies only. Capacity is 800.
Art Gallery of Greater Victoria
An elegant setting for intimate weddings. The garden is beautiful for summer ceremonies and the galleries are perfect for artistic portraits.
Reception – up to 80 seated or up to 150 cocktail
Backyard and In-Home Weddings
This isn’t a venue, but consider it if a friend/family member has a large yard. Backyards are the perfect place to put your own personal spin on the traditional wedding. A great wedding planner is a huge help for these types of weddings, including keeping the day running smoothly and sourcing and setting up rentals.
Venue :: East Sooke
Cedar Haven is a private property wedding venue in the woods, nestled in the old growth rain forest. A wooded ceremony site and space for a tent reception.
Capacity: 120 seated or 200 cocktail. 3000 sqft downtown courtyard venue available Saturdays from June to September.
Fort Rodd Hill & Fisgard Lighthouse
The Robert Bateman Centre
3000 sqft luxe downtown penthouse with rooftop terrace overlooking the inner harbour. Up to 80 guests.
Victoria Public Market at the Hudson
3000 sqft of open concept event space, available for use after market hours. Capacity is 350, 180-216 seated.
Capacity: 200 guests. The View is a gorgeous, oceanfront luxury house featuring an infinity pool, rock garden, and even a heli pad.
