In late August, I had the pleasure of photographing the elopement of Mary Anne and Michael, two fascinating and dramatic people who are clearly a perfect match for each other. They had a small ceremony on the top of Mount Doug with only her parents in attendance. She’s Canadian, he’s British, and they met in Shanghai. These world travelers filled in their places of residence on their statement of marriage certificate as “no fixed abode” and “all points in space and time”. I almost expected them to step into a blue police box and fly away at the end.
