Cathy and Pthia invited me to their home for their engagement session last fall, right after they finished creating their yearly Halloween extravaganza in their yard. Walking up to their house felt like stepping straight into the season: pumpkins, gravestones, a terrifying giant spider, and just the right amount of spooky charm. Inside was a geek paradise showing off all their pop culture favourites, lots of colour and patterns, and an overall cozy vibe. It was the perfect backdrop for photos that felt like them.

I think the photos ended up super cute with a touch of spooky, just like the couple themselves – more “Hocus Pocus” than “It”, though a certain freaky clown did make an appearance.

We tried to get some photos with their adorable kitty, Grubee, but he was not the most cooperative. Pthia and Cathy, on the other hand, were total naturals. Whether they were snuggled on the couch or joking around outside, the joy they share was effortless to capture.

Their costumed wedding day carried this same playful Halloween spirit and I can’t wait to share those photos here very soon.
