A few weeks ago, I took some engagement photographs for Jen and Mike at the Sooke Prestige Oceanfront Resort, where they’re getting married in August. Working on these photographs makes it pretty clear that these two are perfect for each other. Marry someone who makes you laugh.

Below are blog posts featuring couple portraits, engagement sessions, anniversary photos and documentary photo sessions featuring couples. Most take place in Greater Victoria, BC, which is a great location for portraits due to it’s beautiful beaches, mountain views, and stunning gardens.
I like to focus on capturing natural expressions and real emotion in my portrait sessions, so I lightly pose couples and direct them using prompts and conversation. Some of these sessions are partially or totally candid, which is a great way to document an important part of your relationship (ex: walking your dog, hanging out at a favourite cafe or pub, doing a hobby together).

Shannon and Sean are Engaged
Shannon and Sean braved a rainy night in September for their engagement session. We headed to Cattle Point, wandered around Uplands Park, and then played around on Willows Beach for a bit. It was darker than expected, and definitely wetter! They were totally soaked by the end, but still smiling.
