Joey e-mailed me about a month before their wedding, seriously excited – and I mean seriously. I knew from his attitude that I had to photograph this wedding. Joey and Eric travelled from the US with their families to Sooke Harbour House, which provided a beautiful setting for a sweet, intimate ceremony. The guys and their families were so friendly and cheerful, everyone involved in the wedding fell in love with them, including me and Brenda, the officiant.

They did a little pre-wedding dancing, tried some weird and wonderful West Coast food, toasted with some wine, and struggled with the boutonnieres, before starting the ceremony. The original plan was to have the ceremony outside, but with rain coming off and on, they had it inside the hotel instead. We managed to get outside for some portraits, which we were all happy about. I love how sweet and playful Joey and Eric are together.
