Congrats on your engagement and thanks so much for having me photograph your wedding!
I’ve set up this page so that all of the information you need is in one place. You’ll find my wedding package, print, and album pricing; album design guide to help you through the album design process; and a special guide to creating the engagement session of your dreams. I’ve also included recommendations of some amazing wedding vendors, to help you put together your perfect wedding.
All clients get an online gallery of their wedding and/or engagement photos, which can be found here. Most clients will also receive a slideshow, which can be found at an address with your names in it, like here: https://www.laraeichhorn.com/robyn-and-stephen/ This page will contain links to your engagement and wedding blog posts, along with your full wedding gallery.
Let me know if you’d like mini cards with the link to your slideshow to include with your invites or thank you cards, or if you’d like to know the exact address at any time prior to the wedding.
About a month before your wedding, I’ll be sending you a questionnaire to get the details about your big day. Get a jump start on it by checking it out here.
Engagement Session Guide
I put together an engagement session guide to help you plan your session, if you choose to do one.
Album Ordering Guide
Check out album ordering guide for everything you need to know about purchasing a wedding album, from pricing to cover materials, along with the whole process of choosing your favourite images and reviewing the layouts.
Wedding Pricing Guide
Here’s my current wedding pricing guide in PDF format. (Note these are the current prices – you should save the PDF from when you booked because those print and album prices are guaranteed for six months following the wedding)
My Favourite Wedding Vendors
Need a little help with the planning process? Here are some of my favourite vendors, who I highly recommend for your wedding. Note: this list is private because it’s not about sucking up to other vendors and trading links. It’s about getting my clients the best help possible to make their day amazing.
Blue Lily Event Planning – Tammy is a super sweet, dedicated wedding planner. She puts in long days and never loses her enthusiasm. At one wedding, the band forgot their bass (and amps/mics I believe) in Vancouver and Tammy found them a bass somewhere in Victoria within a couple of hours, totally saving the day. The bride and groom didn’t even know there was a problem until someone else told them the next day. Tammy did day-of coordination for Courtenay and Patrick’s backyard wedding and did most of the planning (and styling) for the photo shoots at Matt and Katie’s photography workshop.
Winfield Printing – I haven’t used them, but the guy seems nice and letterpress is awesome. Might be worth a visit to check out samples.
Metropol – Another local invitation designer/printer. You can go in and work on your invitation design with them. I’ve had clients use them for save the date cards and invitations.
Chef Laura – The Good For You Gourmet – Laura has some great ideas to help you save money and put together the perfect meal for your wedding.
Real Food Made Easy – Gluten-free and personalized catering for small to medium events.
Toque Catering – Delicious, unique food.
Truffles – The gold standard for catering in Victoria. Their food is delicious and always looks great.
Cakes Etc. – I’ve had their cakes a few times and they’re delicious. I love the chocolate.
Crumsby’s – I think these are the best cupcakes.
Bella Fiore Custom Floral Design – Sarina is the most passionate floral design I know. She’s the person to talk to if you want something really unique for your wedding flowers. She designed the flowers for Kristin and Aaron’s Brentwood Bay Resort wedding and has put together several arrangements for me.
Clare Day Flowers – Clare grows many of her own flowers and can make gorgeous arrangements with local flowers, herbs, and pretty much anything.
Victoria and Area Wedding Swap and Shop Facebook group – A good place to find used wedding decor, dresses, etc.
The White Peony – Trish, the owner, is super friendly and she’s put together a gorgeously curated selection of dresses. She provided the dresses for the Matt and Katie photography workshop. The White Peony is located in downtown Victoria near Chatham and Government.
Trashy Diva – Looking for something non-traditional? This amazing designer based in New Orleans makes gorgeous vintage-style dresses, many of which would be perfect for a unique wedding. Check out the bridal collection.
Hair and Make-Up
Erin Bradley – Erin does both hair and makeup. She’s chatty and upbeat and an expert on all things beauty and style. She also provides makeover and shopping services at the Uptown Personal Shopping Room. She did the makeup for Robyn and Steve’s wedding and some of the hair and makeup for this wedding at St. Ann’s.
Melanie Baird – Another awesome makeup artist, who’s also professional, fun, and friendly.
Conscious Hair by Elena – Elene is very fun and laid back, and does fabulous hair. She uses eco-friendly products. She works frequently with Melanie Baird.
Alexa Rae – Alexa does great makeup and works with a talented team. I hear she’s the only experienced makeup artist who does airbrushing in Victoria.
Getting Ready Locations
Inn at Laurel Point (Victoria) – Definitely one of the prettiest spots to get ready, with tons of natural light for hair and makeup photos.
Cowichan Beach House (Cowichan Bay) – This vacation rental is insane. It’s huge, with an indoor pool, tons of rooms, cool Victorian-style furniture, and an oceanview backyard. Get your whole wedding party or family to stay here for a week if you’re coming from out of town. This is the best spot I’ve seen for people getting married at Merridale Cider or other spots in Cobble Hill, Mill Bay, Cowichan.
Music and Entertainment
Paul O’Brien – Great folky style music for your ceremony and/or reception. He played Ashley and Bryan’s ceremony along with his kids, who are truly talented musicians themselves, and brought along a fiddler for the reception.
Ron Larson at HiWay Productions – I photographed a couple of weddings that Ron DJ’d (and one where he was the MC). He’s very professional and fun.
Airwaves Music – I haven’t worked with these guys, but I’ve met the manager and he seems like a great guy. They’re established in a few other cities and starting out in Victoria. They have DJs and ceremony/reception musicians.
Vesta Entertainment – Fire dancers and circus performers.
Paper Heart Films – Chelsea is amazing, unobtrusive, and really friendly. Check out samples of her work, which speak for themselves.
Cassie O’Neil Cinematography – I haven’t worked with her, but her work is gorgeous and colleagues have recommended her.
Unitarian Lay Chaplains – I love the Unitarian lay chaplains. Each one that I’ve worked with has been very kind, patient, and seem to love what they do. I believe they’re a bit more expensive than the BC marriage commissioners, but they spend more time on your wedding. They help you to customize your ceremony, making for some of the most beautiful and romantic ceremonies I’ve witnessed. Their ceremonies can be religious or non-religious and they officiate same-sex weddings. More info here.
Barbara Densmore – She officiated at one of my smaller weddings and it was a beautiful, unique ceremony. She clearly loves and cares about each and every wedding she does. If the ceremony is really important to you, check out her website. She’s more expensive, but that means she’ll spend more time on your wedding and not rush off if things run late.
BC Marriage Commissioners – If you want a short, no frills ceremony, go for the typical marriage commissioner. I highly recommend Iain Hooey, Sharon Russell, and Cathy Lavoie.
Rita Steenssens – Boudoir and glamour photography isn’t really my style, but Rita totally rocks it. If I was going to get some done of myself, I’d go to her (and I think I just might get a beauty session with her one day soon).
