2010 was a great year for me and my still fairly-new business. I wanted to write a post to summarize the weddings I shot and to have a contest where people can vote on their favourite wedding image from my selections below. To vote, please visit the album on my Facebook business page. I think you have to “like” the page to vote, which is done by “liking” the photo you want to vote for. You can vote for as many photos as you want. The couple whose wedding is featured in the winning photo will receive a 20 page 6×6 press-printed album from their wedding. Contest ends at 6pm on January 21st.
Below the photo is a link to the full blog post, in case you missed them, and a little commentary on why I love that image.
I think this photo is really sweet, especially the way he’s looking at her. I also adore how sassy and gorgeous Pam looks in her glasses.
I don’t normally care much for register signing photos, but I think Noya looks like such a classic bride here, with the help of a beautiful veil.
I love this shot because they’re both so smiley. I also really like the way the hot pink pops against the blue sky and ocean.
This shot is just too adorable. I love the grin on Laura’s face and Warren looks so sweet and happy. The green forest looks awesome with his purple shirt too.
I love these little unposed moments during the portrait sessions. Laura looks like such a classic beauty and such a laugh! They were playful and laughing throughout the session and this shot is just so them.
Lara was the most excited bride I’ve ever seen. She was dancing around her room while getting ready and then did some yoga to relax. I love how this photo looks like it could have been posed, but wasn’t. Check out the full blog post above for this one to see how excited the groom was too – I’m really not sure who was more excited, they were both so smitten with each other.
I love how smiley Anne and John are here. Their day was wonderfully about friends and family, it was great to have a moment away from the crowd with just the two of them.
Gillian and Murat, September 4th, Art Gallery of Greater Victoria
We went into the “Lab” at the art gallery and while posing them in front of this funky wall, I noticed these stamps on the table. I didn’t even have to ask them to do this, they just started playing. The venue was gorgeous and their outfits were so glam, I just love how this image shows that they’re not too fancy to play.
This was one of the most touching weddings I’ve witnessed, and this is the perfect moment right after the kiss.
The reception at the Union Club was so classy, with Jessica’s designer’s touch for the decor and their great personal style. I love how this shot shows off the fanciness of the location, but also shows Jess and Steve having a moment of their own while their friends look on.
We had fun playing with off-camera flash during Brianne and Chris’s portrait session on Brianne’s family’s giant property in Sooke. I love how you can see the sunset through the trees in the background.
These two were so adorable and I love the looks on their faces here, as well as the face of the officiant.
Here are a couple of bonus images from weddings that I was the second photographer for. These two aren’t included in the contest, because they weren’t my clients, but I think they’re important to include in my yearly wrap-up.
I love how emotional Jen got during the ceremony.
I don’t get to shoot the guys getting ready very often, so I had fun during this one. Love the guy in the doorway’s pose.
