I’ve mostly finished the redesign of this site.  The central point of the design is a blog header, designed by Amy at Candy Apple Studios.  She specializes in branding for photographers, so if you’re working on your brand, check her out.  She was great to work with and took all of my suggestions, even the nitpicky ones (and told me when I asked if my idea was silly).  I love all of it.  What do you think?

Aside from the blog header, she also made my logo, business cards, watermarks, and packaging stickers.  I think the colors are a little off because these things are meant for print, aside from the watermark.  I forgot to change the colour space when converting these, but the pink should be the same pink as the blog header and the watermark.

Denise: THEY HAVE TERRIBLE SERVICE AND CLOTHES, BUYERS PLEASE BEWARE!!! May 06, 2009

ashleigh: does anyone have another contact number for them other them the one that is on the website i just ordered and them came across this .....and now i am kicking myself i paid credit how do i get it back? May 12, 2009

Lara: 213-817-4200 is the only number I've found for them anywhere. I don't think we did ever get them on the phone though. May 12, 2009

Whitney: I've had a terrible time with pinupgirlclothing.com! I bought a dress with the 20% off coupon code and recieved it within a reasonable period of time. The zipper on the dress was unusable upon arrival. (The teeth would stay together after zipping) So I emailed and sent it back. Instead of doing an exchange I had to reorder and couldn't get the intial discount as if it was MY FAULT they sent me an unwearable dress. At that point I just really wanted the dress and went along with it. So I get get the replacement dress in the mail and guess what?! Another busted zipper!! I email them again reporting the issue and all the help I get is them telling me if I send it back they may not have another to send me in return. I was very considerate and polite in my correspondance and only at the end of the series of emails can you tell my patience is starting to wear thin. So thats it, I'll fix the damn thing myself. Good thing I can sew. Jun 08, 2009

Lara: Whitney: I'd ask for a refund. And a refund of the shipping fees. Of course, with them, you probably wouldn't get one. So, good luck fixing it. Jun 08, 2009

Christine: Love them! Just a tip - for the watermark on your images, you might want to add your full name or your URL -- that way, if someone lifts an image while planning, they can remember what photographer it came from. Isn't Amy awesome to work with?!? I just *adore* her!!! Jul 14, 2009

Lara: Thanks, Christine! I think I got the rec from you. The bar with the website address above is the watermark she gave me. I asked her to put the address on it too, but I prefer the way it looks without the bar. After giving it some thought, I decided that my initials are rare enough that most people could find me again. There was hardly ever anyone in the 'E' line at school. And yes, she is awesome. I want to get her to make me more stuff, but I have no money left! Jul 14, 2009

Jennifer: I have tried and tried to contact someone via phone and email. No return calls or emails. The customer service from Laura Byrnes of pinupgirlclothing store is just bad. Look at the better business bureau and ripoffreport website. As much as she has gorgeous clothing designs. I think she need more people to work for her. She just has so much going on with her photography, partying, pinups, Dixiefried. Dont get me started on her bringing back Dixiefried. If she brings Melanie down, thats it! I read a thing on Laura Byrnes Facebook: "Laura Byrnes: I say this to people, but nobody ever believes me: I SAVE ALL MY EMAILS! I save the ones I send, and the ones I receive! So don't be stupid because if you do it goes in my "assholes" folder! September 4 at 11:14pm" WOW!! Saves them but doesnt reply to them. Sep 10, 2009

Diana: Well I wish I had researched this company first! I saw the web ad on a local pin up girl photography website (will be warning them about advertising for these people) and figured it was ok... WRONG. I ordered a 'Sexy Santa' dress at the price of $76, which I thought was a little steep, but it looked darling. Received the order and was very disappointed with the item (Holiday Lingerie-Sexy Mrs. Clause Belted Mini Dress by J Valentine) was of cheap stretch 'velvet' and the maribou trim was all over the place. I sent an email back requesting an RA#. The response I received was: "I am sorry for the inconvenience, unfortunately, lingerie/Underwear, Clubwear, Cosmetics, Fragrances, and Toiletries are not returnable and not refundable." I wrote back saying this was a COSTUME and that the definition of 'lingerie' is 'undergarments', which this is NOT. I also pointed to another dress which is almost exactly like it, but the same manufacturer, but with straight straps and not halter straps (Sexy Mrs. Santa Claus Mini Dress w/Maribou Trim - sold out, of course!!) and asked her (Karla) to justify the difference! She never did, and with subsequent emails, she keeps pointing to their 'store policy'. WHERE was this store policy? Certainly NOT of the page with the item description... NOT on the order form... NOT on the confirmation email when the order was placed and my card charged...NOT on the confirmation email when the item was sent. The first I saw of this alleged 'store policy' was AFTER I received the item and it was on the invoice, and was told so by Karla! Isn't this illegal? All I was asking was for store credit! They are NOT customer oriented and are only out to bilk their mostly WOMEN customers!! It's enough we have to beware of large companies! But when you get bilked and mistreated by a small, women's company, that is INCREDIBLY disheartening! So do NOT order from this company!! You can find MOST of these items elsewhere AND cheaper! Try Amazon.com! YES, Amazon.com! I did get better quality item for half the cost of the cheap, mis-named 'lingerie' from "stick-up, girl" clothing! PS. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB AND, since I am also in CA, will see what Small Claims Court can take this case. Dec 11, 2009
