Kelly and Dan – Couple Portraits – Victoria, BC

I had a really fun shoot with Kelly and Dan on Monday night. Here are a few sneak peek shots from the session. There are a lot of great ones and I’ll post more later.

Helping me promote my business. I don’t normally make my clients do this, but we’ve got something special in the works.

Chris and Noya’s Wedding – The English Inn, Esquimalt, BC

Two weeks ago, I photographed Chris and Noya’s wedding ceremony at The English Inn.  I’d never been there before.  Who knew such a beautiful place was hidden away in Esquimalt?  Aside from the gorgeous setting, I think what I loved the most about this wedding was how cheerful everyone was.  The bride and groom, family, friends, and even the officiant were full of genuine smiles throughout the wedding and portraits.  They were all happy to get their photos taken too, so it was really easy to get great group portraits.

Here are a few of my favourite shots of the couple, their wedding party, and the lovely garden.

MacIsaac Family Portraits – Victoria, BC

Emma contacted me from Calgary a while ago to shoot some portraits when her family reunited in Victoria over the Victoria Day long weekend. We met at a small park near Dallas Road that I’d heard about from friends. They were looking for something fun and what’s more fun than a playground? I had a great time photographing three generations of MacIsaac women and grandpa (or “Dad”). This was actually my first family session ever, so thank you all for being so patient with me!

The three sisters joined me for a little playful experiment on the merry-go-round.  The gathered round the center and I gave the thing a push and hopped on.  As it started to slow, I asked someone watching to give it a push and proceeded to fall from my crouched position as they did.  I grabbed onto the bar and asked for another push, then snapped away.  I love the effect.

All of the girls wore fun, different coloured shoes.

Anne and John – Engagement Portraits – Victoria, BC

I met with Anne and John on a very cold and windy day last week. We were originally going to shoot on Dallas Road, but decided to head somewhere a little warmer. We looked for cover in Market Square, Solstice Cafe, and finally braved the ocean breezes near the Delta Ocean Pointe.   This engagement session was a gift to the couple from Anne’s maid of honour Jessica, which I think was a great idea.  I had fun wandering around with Anne and John and they were quite full of smiles, despite the weather.  We even managed to find a little bit of sun.

Pamela and Stephen’s Elopement Ceremony – Empress Hotel – Victoria, BC

A week ago, Pamela and Stephen got married at the Empress Hotel in Victoria. They brought along Pamela’s sister and Stephen’s best friend to share in their special day. My second shooter Jon Faulknor and I also got to tag along. We didn’t get a chance to meet before the wedding because they live on the mainland, but luckily we got along great and had a lot of fun. The Empress does an amazing job with their wedding/elopment packages, with gorgeous flowers and a super sweet cake, not to mention the stunning setting.

I meant to put these up earlier, but it took longer than anticipated because there were so many photos that I really liked from this wedding. I hope these photos help their friends and family feel a bit like they were there, and that Pamela and Stephen are on a computer somewhere on their honeymoon loving these shots as much as I do.

While I photographed the girls getting ready, Jon sneakily managed to get some shots (next three) of the guys just hanging out, like the rockstars they are.

Jon recorded the beauty of the room with his ultra wide angle lens, below.

I’m sad to say that Jon took the shot on the below left in front of the Empress.  Sad because I think it’s awesome and wish I’d shot it.

Thanks to Jon for second shooting for me, and thanks so much to Pamela and Stephen for sharing part of their special day with us.  It was wonderful meeting you.
