I was super busy in early February volunteering for the Victoria Film Festival.  I’d never had a chance to go before, but I will definitely be involved in the future.  I helped set up for the opening gala, took photographs at a bunch of events, and did a venue shift near the end.  I also met some awesome people and had fun at the wrap party.  I saw two full films and part of two others.  Like Dandelion Dust was very interesting and well acted by all and A Perfect Day was fascinating, depressing, and confusing all at once.  I hope to see more next year.  I’d also like to get more involved with volunteering at the venues and events.  Photography was fun, but I love to be a part of events like these instead of observing them from behind the lens.

Took some photos of happy volunteers and lines at Capitol 6 on the first Saturday night for the showings of Like Dandelion Dust and Cooper’s Camera. It seemed like a fun place to volunteer.

Took a few shots at the Empire Music Lounge at Whitebird, where they had a band playing and some awesome lighting.

I also took a few photos at the Odeon showing of Finding Farley.  The parts of it I got to see were pretty interesting and awe-inspiring.

I’ve been super busy lately and behind on my blogging and photo processing.   Here are some photos from the Greater Victoria Animal Crusaders auction last month.  They raised a lot of money to help animals, which I’m always impressed with.

I donated a portrait session to the auction and the pretty lady in the photo on the right below bought it. Can’t wait to do start organizing the shoot.

The ladies of the GVAC board at the end of the night, when we were all too tired to search for a pretty portrait location.  They still looked great after working their butts off all night.  All in a day’s work for these girls.
