Kelly and Dan Part 2 – Couple Portraits – Victoria, BC

I couldn’t wait to finish editing all of these before posting some more, so there’s another post coming in a bit.

Kelly and Dan – Couple Portraits – Victoria, BC

I had a really fun shoot with Kelly and Dan on Monday night. Here are a few sneak peek shots from the session. There are a lot of great ones and I’ll post more later.

Helping me promote my business. I don’t normally make my clients do this, but we’ve got something special in the works.

Anne and John – Engagement Portraits – Victoria, BC

I met with Anne and John on a very cold and windy day last week. We were originally going to shoot on Dallas Road, but decided to head somewhere a little warmer. We looked for cover in Market Square, Solstice Cafe, and finally braved the ocean breezes near the Delta Ocean Pointe.   This engagement session was a gift to the couple from Anne’s maid of honour Jessica, which I think was a great idea.  I had fun wandering around with Anne and John and they were quite full of smiles, despite the weather.  We even managed to find a little bit of sun.

Laura and Warren – Engagement Portraits – Roundhouse, Esquimalt, BC

I always feel extra special when an avid photographer contacts me to do portraits (or a wedding) for them.  Warren, in charge of choosing a wedding photographer, contacted me a few months ago and we got out to take some engagement portraits and get to know each other this past Saturday.  He’s pretty into photography, which makes me a bit nervous, but also makes me feel like I must be doing something right.

Laura and Warren are still working out some details for their August wedding, but don’t seem too worried.  I can tell that these two, and their friends and family, are going to have a super fun wedding day.  They were a little unsure of what to do in front of the camera at first, which I can fully understand as I’m also used to being behind the lens.  It didn’t take them long to warm up though.  They had a ton of energy and creative, playful ideas.  They even brought props, which you can see near the end of this post.

It took me quite a while to go through the photos and choose which ones to blog, because there were so many great, different images.  I’m still going to have to spend a lot more time to figure out which ones to edit and deliver.  Thanks for giving me the best problem a photographer could ask for, guys.

Out come the props, aka their secret identities: Mr. Beaver and Ms. Racoon.  Ok, so I just made that up.  But it could be true.  You never know.  They were rather good at foraging on the rocks.

Amanda and Anthony – Engagement Portraits – Beacon Hill Park, Victoria, BC

Met up with Amanda and Anthony for an engagement portrait shoot in the beautiful morning light on Wednesday.  They were adorable and it was a fun, relaxing shoot.  We wandered about Beacon Hill Park for a bit and then headed down to the water quickly.  I had just picked up my favourite lens (85mm 1.8) from the repair shop, so I was happy to give it a spin again.  The cherry blossoms were out in full effect.

Part of the reason these two wanted photos done was to show off their new matching tattoos. They say “love always”.

They showed me the “love tree” near the large stone bridge. I’d never even noticed it before.  Many couples had carved their initials in it and moss was growing out of some of them.
