Here are some photographs of my sample fine art album featuring photos from Lara and Steve’s elopement. Fine art albums are a gorgeous, more affordable alternative to the classic flushmount albums. These albums are archival inkjet printed onto matte fine art paper and hand-bound. The cover material is either a photo cover or your choice from six colours of leather. These albums are fresh and modern, yet high-quality and timeless.

Photo Guestbooks

Here are some photos of a sample guestbook featuring photos from Warren and Laura’s engagement shoot last year. These books are high-quality, professional books made by a professional photo printing company. They are press-printed books made up of images printed directly on the pages, like a hard-cover book from the bookstore. These books are designed by me using photos taken during an engagement portrait session. A lot of white space is left on the pages so that people can leave messages for the happy couple. Alternately, questions or comment prompts can be included (i.e. “leave some advice for the couple” or “marriage is…”). The content and layout of the books is completely customizable! A typical guestbook is 10 spreads (or 20 pages/sides), but can be longer. They come in 5×5, 8×8, 10×10, and 12×12 inch sizes, but can be vertically or horizontallly oriented by request. Flushmount Albums

Here are some photos of my sample flushmount album featuring photos from Gillian and Murat’s wedding. These albums are high-quality, archival flushmount albums. A flush mount album is made up of photo layouts (designed by myself using Adobe InDesign) printed on photographic paper, mounted on a thick substrate. The layouts/spreads go across the whole width of the album, with no gap at the centre. A wide selection of cover materials are available and may be combined onto one custom cover, which could also include a cameo printed on metal, as shown in the below sample. My albums are as long as they need to be to tell the complete story of the wedding day. These flushmounts are limited by the manufacturer to 35 spreads (or 70 pages/sides), which makes for a rather heavy album. These are a classic, yet modern, album to preserve your wedding day memories.

Kelly and Dan + Promo Video Shoot

I posted a few of these before, but I wanted to put all of my favourites in one post. In July, Kelly and Dan let me take photos of them for a couple of hours, while Chris Ruffell from Aclara Promotions recorded the whole process on video. The shoot resulted in the promo video below.

First of all, thank you so much to Rachael Cantu for letting me use her beautifully fun song “Saturday”. Please buy her albums.

Kelly and Dan are getting married next year and I love these photos of them. Photogenic much? I chose them for the video because they’re not only good looking, they’re super fun, playful, and silly. Chris did an awesome job of portraying the shoot in exactly the way I think both love and photo shoots should be: joyful and fun. I’m hoping this video will help people to get to know me and my style better and bring me clients like Kelly and Dan: people who know how to have fun with their love. I’ve actually had plenty of clients like this already, so I’m either incredibly lucky or my website is doing a decent job of showcasing my personality. I hope this video will make it even clearer.

We shot the first half of the photos at Beacon Hill Park and the rest at the Roundhouse/railyard. Chris made me stand in bright sunlight, but sometimes harsh light can be fun.

And here are some behind the scenes shots, and a couple of photos of Chris looking all professional (like he is).

Summary: Video is good. Kelly and Dan are awesome. Chris rocks. Go hire him.

New Branding from Candy Apple Studios

I’ve mostly finished the redesign of this site. The central point of the design is a blog header, designed by Amy at Candy Apple Studios. She specializes in branding for photographers, so if you’re working on your brand, check her out. She was great to work with and took all of my suggestions, even the nitpicky ones (and told me when I asked if my idea was silly). I love all of it. What do you think?

Aside from the blog header, she also made my logo, business cards, watermarks, and packaging stickers. I think the colors are a little off because these things are meant for print, aside from the watermark. I forgot to change the colour space when converting these, but the pink should be the same pink as the blog header and the watermark.
